Network & IT support engineer

You will work at the technical backbone of EMMA installations worldwide. Every EMMA system relies on a stable IT, network, and security environment to control robotics, imaging systems, data flows, and QC processes. You ensure customers have a validated, reliable, and secure setup—remotely supporting installations and troubleshooting issues that span devices, networks, and software.

Core responsibilities

• Support, configure, and maintain EMMA installations at customer sites—primarily remote, occasionally on-site.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, firewall, VPN, and security issues affecting EMMA’s operation.
• Guide customers through system prerequisites, network integrations, and IT compliance requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the software, robotics, and service teams to resolve issues spanning multiple layers (hardware → network → OS → application).
• Maintain and improve standardized installation procedures and deployment documentation.
• Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot performance issues related to servers, workstations, and imaging pipelines.
• Act as a trusted technical contact for customers, ensuring smooth onboarding and long-term operational stability.

Who you are

• Someone who enjoys solving technical puzzles involving networks, devices, operating systems, and application workflows.
• Strong in structured troubleshooting, able to isolate issues quickly and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users.
• Comfortable working with VPNs, firewalls, Windows environments, and on-prem IT infrastructures.
• Motivated by helping customers succeed and keeping mission-critical systems running smoothly.
• Curious about how robotics, imaging, and automation interact—and eager to understand the full EMMA ecosystem.
• A calm, analytical communicator who collaborates effectively with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Proactive, hands-on, and someone who takes ownership from the first contact until full resolution.

Formal qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, network engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• Solid experience with:
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Active directory configuration
  • Windows server/workstation environments
• Experience supporting technical or industrial systems is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and documentation best practices.
• Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
• Located within 45 minutes of Microtechnix HQ (Sint-Niklaas).
