Major U.S. Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Selects EMMA RL for Digital Environmental Monitoring

Microtechnix announces the installation of its EMMA RL automated plate reading system at a major pharmaceutical manufacturing site in NY, USA. The project is being executed by LabLogic, Microtechnix’s U.S. distribution and implementation partner.

The facility processes a high volume of environmental monitoring samples in GMP-classified cleanroom environments. With increasing regulatory focus on data integrity, contamination control strategies, and trend evaluation under Annex 1, the site selected EMMA RL to digitize and standardize its plate reading workflow.

EMMA RL supports:

  • Automated triage of negative plates
  • AI-assisted evaluation of positives under the four-eyes principle
  • 100% lid-on imaging to minimize contamination risk
  • Fully traceable, 21 CFR Part 11–compliant digital records

Unlike kinetic incubation-based systems, EMMA RL integrates seamlessly into existing validated incubation workflows, minimizing infrastructure changes while significantly reducing capital and operational burden.

LabLogic will lead the installation, system qualification, and user training, ensuring rapid implementation and regulatory alignment.

This installation further strengthens Microtechnix’s footprint in the U.S. pharmaceutical market and confirms the growing industry shift toward compliant, scalable, and audit-ready digital microbiology solutions.

As regulatory expectations around data integrity and environmental monitoring continue to evolve, EMMA RL provides pharmaceutical manufacturers with a controlled pathway toward operational excellence — without compromising compliance.
