Application Specialist

We are seeking an Application Specialist with a background in pharmaceutical sciences or microbiology who enjoys working closely with customers and translating scientific processes into reliable, standardized solutions. In this role, you will act as the application expert for our EMMA platform, ensuring customers successfully implement and use our solutions in their laboratory environment. 

Working closely with the Customer Success Manager—who owns the customer relationship and overall process—you will focus on executing and implementing validated workflows in a consistent and high-quality manner. You are comfortable engaging with customers, guiding them toward best practices, and balancing flexibility with adherence to Microtechnix standards and strategy. 

Responsibilities

• Act as the application expert for EMMA, supporting structured and successful customer implementations 
• Work closely with the Customer Success Manager to translate customer needs into standardized workflows 
• Implement and configure microbiology QC workflows following defined best practices and protocols 
• Provide hands-on support during onboarding, training, and validation activities 
• Deliver training sessions (onsite and remote) to ensure correct and consistent system usage 
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them toward effective and compliant use of the system 
• Manage customer expectations by clearly communicating what is possible within the product and company strategy 
• Confidently and professionally push back when needed, ensuring solutions remain scalable and standardized 
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues using structured and methodical approaches 
• Ensure all implementations are documented, reproducible, and aligned with internal standards 
• Provide clear and structured feedback to improve workflows, usability, and documentation 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience or Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, microbiology, or a related field 
• Good understanding of pharmaceutical microbiology QC processes 
• Strong ability to follow and execute defined processes accurately and consistently 
• Customer-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills 
• Able to build trust with customers while maintaining boundaries and company direction 
• Comfortable having constructive conversations and saying “no” in a clear and professional way 
• Hands-on mindset with practical problem-solving skills 
• Structured, detail-oriented, and quality-focused 
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced and cross-functional team 
• Willingness to travel internationally (up to ~20%) 
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus 
• Based within reasonable commuting distance (30 minutes) of Microtechnix HQ
