We are looking to hire an AI & software engineer that gets energy from getting things done and wants to be part of a 10-person scale-up bringing true innovation to the microbiology market. Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is to shape and contribute to novel software solutions for Microtechnix that enable our customers to standardize and automate their microbiology manual processes.
  • This includes developing own code and managing 3rd party suppliers.
  • Lead the implementation of externally developed AI-models into our software platform
  • Secondary responsibility is to support the service team on software related tickets, including development, testing, and maintenance of front-end software.
  • Act as a liaison between customer-facing support and the software backend team to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution.
  • Become the go-to person to help the support team with complex software issues

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Python is essential.
  • Helicopter view on the AI-evolution to understand the potential impact of different vision AI and LLM models on our instruments & workflow.
  • Strong understanding of current best practices in software development, including test-driven development, continuous integration, and code reviews.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to ask pertinent questions and convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot and identify issues effectively.
  • Proactive and action-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Located within a reasonable radius around Microtechnix’ HQ (Sint-Niklaas)
